“He was taken to Kothi Bagh Police station,” added the statement.

The statement further said that while condemning the arrest of Malik, zonal president JKLF Noor Muhammad Kalwal said that arresting him and placing other leaders under house arrest has become a favourite hobby of police and establishment.

The statement further said that the JKLF leader termed the crackdowns in Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam and other parts of Kashmir valley as worst oppression.

“By intimidating Kashmiris by NIA, ED aggression, killings, torture, arrests and other oppressive measures, the authorities can’t weaken our resolve for freedom,” the statement quoted the JKLF leader as saying.

The statement further said that JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri today addressed a gathering at Haji Masjid Lal Chowk and paid rich tributes to Kashmiri martyrs.
