MLA Uri raises key constituency issues in Assembly

Jammu: MLA Uri, Dr Sajjad Shafi Uri, actively raised several pressing issues concerning the Uri constituency in the Assembly, urging immediate government intervention.

During the session, Dr. Sajjad highlighted the need for a Hostel for ST (Scheduled Tribe) students in ST 1 and ST 2 areas, emphasizing the importance of educational facilities for marginalized communities. He also called for directives to be issued to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri to ensure that ST certificates are provided to the entire Sub-Division Uri without unnecessary delays.

Addressing the water crisis in Uri, he stressed the urgent need for infrastructural improvements to provide clean drinking water to residents. He further pushed for the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Amrit Scheme to be implemented efficiently in Uri Town, ensuring better water supply management. He said Get My Salary and Give Water to the People of Uri constituency.

Dr. Sajjad also advocated for granting No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for gypsum mines in the region, which would contribute to economic development. Additionally, he urged the government to ensure employment opportunities for land donors who provided their land for Public Health Engineering (PHE) projects, recognizing their contributions and securing their livelihoods.

The MLA reiterated his commitment to the welfare of the people of Uri and urged authorities to take swift action on these matters for the betterment of the region.
