Chairperson DDC Kulgam vows support for specially-abled children

KULGAM: Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Kulgam, M Afzal Parray, today presided over the Environment Building programme on Inclusive Education for Children with Special Needs (CWSN).

The event was organized by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Kulgam in collaboration with the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kulgam at the DIET building, here.

The programme saw the participation of several officials, including the Principal of DIET Kulgam, Principal of HSS Malwan, and other dignitaries from DIET Kulgam.

Discussions focused on the challenges faced by differently-abled individuals and the need for stronger educational support.

Speaking at the event, Chairperson DDC raised various concerns regarding the education and well-being of differently-abled children.

He emphasized the government’s role in ensuring their welfare and urged parents to support and encourage their children rather than discriminating on ability.

Highlighting the crucial role of teachers, he stressed the importance of inclusive education in shaping the future of such children. He assured that, as Chairperson of the DDC, he remains committed to taking all necessary steps for their betterment, pledging to leave no stone unturned in advocating for their rights and opportunities.

The event concluded with a collective commitment from all stakeholders to work towards a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for differently-abled children in Kulgam.
