Srinagar: National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar has criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for “politicising issues” instead of engaging in constructive opposition. He claimed that the NC would vigorously advocate for the concerns of the people in the upcoming budget session.
The elected government of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is set to present the budget in the session scheduled for March 3.
“NC will forcefully raise the people’s issues. Everything outlined in our manifesto will be highlighted, and all promises made to the people will be addressed,” said Salman Sagar.
Targeting PDP, he accused the party of failing to fulfill its responsibilities while in power. “Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed spoke about constructive opposition, but today his party is merely politicizing issues. The PDP remained silent on these matters when they were in power. Now, they are making noises about NC having 50 MLAs, but I want to remind them that during the PDP-BJP coalition, they had 56 MLAs. At that time, the BJP was the most powerful party in New Delhi, yet they failed to meet the expectations of the people,” he said.
Sagar further said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have given the NC a five-year mandate, and the party is committed to addressing all issues within that timeframe.
