Senior journalist Ashwani Kumar bereaved as wife Sunita Chandra passes away

New Delhi/Jammu: Veteran journalist and former bureau chief of AajTak in Jammu, Ashwani Kumar, is mourning the loss of his wife, Sunita Chandra, who passed away on Saturday, January 11, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. She was 61.

Chandra, who had been battling illness for several months, breathed her last on Saturday evening. She is survived by her husband, Ashwani Kumar, and their two daughters.

A dedicated social worker, Chandra made significant contributions to the welfare of underprivileged children. Through the Pahal project of the Damodar Sati Udyog Sanstha, she worked tirelessly to educate over 2,000 children from slum areas, many of whom had migrated to Jammu from various parts of the country.

Her last rites will be performed in Jammu on Sunday, January 12.
