Jammu: Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) government, calling it “directionless and visionless” and accusing it of “failing to fulfill its promises”.

In a press conference here, J&K BJP’s chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi as per news agency KINS, claimed that the party’s government under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was marked by “inaction and lack of vision”.

“The NC government led by Omar Abdullah is a visionless government with no future,” the spokesperson said, adding that “the National Conference has failed to take any concrete steps towards fulfilling the promises made in its manifesto. They have not acted on crucial issues like electricity, water, jobs, tourism, and infrastructure projects.”

The spokesperson also expressed doubts about the NC’s ability to lead, predicting internal strife within the party. “We also want to say that the National Conference will break from inside. There is a leadership crisis within the party. No senior politician from the party is standing with the chief minister,” he remarked.

According to the BJP spokesperson, the NC has no roadmap or financial plans to execute its electoral promises. “Promises made without any financial provision are meaningless. We have seen and understood how they are not being fulfilled,” he added.

On the issue of the NC strained relationship with the Congress, the spokesperson pointed out that the “fight between the National Conference and Congress is clear; this will be more visible in the coming time. The National Conference is running a directionless government with no clear plan for the future.”

Regarding recent political tensions with regard to the ropeway project at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, , the spokesperson said “some political forces tried to fuel the issue, but when the two sides met, the matter was resolved.

“We want to thank BJP MP Jugal Kishore, the Lieutenant Governor, the Shrine Board, for playing a pivotal role in resolving this issue. If similar concerns arise in the future, discussions will be held to resolve them amicably.”(KINS)
