AMC delegation explores Srinagar Smart City innovations

SRINAGAR: A delegation of 47 officials from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) visited Srinagar to study the city’s groundbreaking Smart City projects.

The visit aimed to promote collaboration and share best practices in urban development, highlighting a shared vision of enhancing infrastructure and improving quality of life in Indian cities.

The delegation explored several transformative projects under the Srinagar Smart City Mission, including the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC), Jehlum Riverfront, Balidan Stambh, Northern Foreshore Road, Nishat Sathu, Shalimar Canal, Ghanta Ghar, and the revamped Polo View Market. These initiatives reflect Srinagar’s focus on sustainable development and urban modernization.

Officials from Srinagar Smart City Ltd. provided detailed presentations on project execution, architectural innovation, and technology integration to improve urban services. Discussions emphasized sustainability, environmental conservation, and community-centric planning as key components for shaping the city’s future.

“This visit underscores the importance of inter-city collaboration in pursuing urban excellence,” said an official from Srinagar Smart City Ltd. “We are delighted to share our experiences and learn from AMC’s perspectives, paving the way for smarter and greener cities.”

The AMC officials praised Srinagar’s innovative and sustainable urban planning, commending the city for effectively blending modernization with the preservation of its rich heritage.
