Jammu, June 24: Amit Shah’s address yesterday was a confessional statement of the BJP of its utter failure on all fronts and its deceit of their electorate in Jammu but it has set a tone of their election agenda for 2019 to do everything possible to polarize and communalize the situation in the state and hide it failures behind slogans of nationalism and patriotism.

Addressing a Press conference here today JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir questioned BJP Chief Amit Shah, as to who he was holding responsible for utter failures of his own government in the state as well as in the centre. All the failures which he counted were the failures and betrayals of BJP with their electorate of Jammu region whom they (BJP) exploited on various emotional slogans in 2014.

Flanked by Senior Congress leaders, PCC Chief said that Amit Shah’s address was a confessional statement of the sin of BJP during three and half years of coalition rule in the state and over four year rule at the centre. Now when general elections are round the corner, BJP decided to part ways with PDP only to raise the pitch on their (BJP) expertise to exploit the emotion of patriotism, religion and regionalism, since BJP has been left with no other option in the absence of any achievement of Modi government on any front. BJP would like to use Kashmir issue for the general elections.

Mir questioned BJP Chief Amit Shah as to whom he was befooling, when he shifted the blame entirely on PDP for the total failure of the state government on all fronts including dealing with situation in valley, ensuring equitable development of Jammu region and on various commitments to different section of Jammu people. He was blaming PDP for dealing firmly with militancy but forgot that BJP was equal partner and also party to all major decisions. Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said that cases against stone pelters were being withdrawn on Government of India instructions besides various other CBMs on Kashmir but the BJP has another story to tell to people in Jammu region and elsewhere in the country to exploit sentiments of people.

Mir said Amit Shah was unaware that Gijjar Bakerwals in State are already availing ST similarly on the issue of west PAK refugees he was unaware that BJP had promised citizenship to them, Thirty Lacs to each DPs of 1947,1965 and 1971 but released only five Lacs to them.

Amit shah is also unaware that five Medical Colleges were sanctioned by UPA government for the state, which are nowhere after over 4 years of NDA rule. AIIMS was the result of struggle of Jammu people but even land could not be provided for the same. All this happened when both Health and Forest departments were with BJP. What happened to dream project of Jammu artificial lake sanctioned, funded and got over 75 % completed by previous UPA government and Congress-NC. The PHE, Irrigation and Flood control Ministry was also with BJP.

He also questioned Amit Shah that is it not fact that BJP has given in writing in the common minimum programme (AOA) that it will not raise issue of special status (Art. 370), talks to all stakeholders including Hurriyat and leave aside demand of delimitation, because as per law the exercise is freezed full census after 2026. Was it not surrender of BJP high command on all its core commitments with their electorate, he questioned and now shifting all blame to PDP. It was for PDP to reply to this charge but it is for them to explain, if still there is some broader understanding, to address their respective constituencies, as both coalition partners were doing while in government also, as a result this coalition has left the state totally polarized on religious and regional lines, thus harming the social and secular fabric of the state.

He also questioned whether Amit Shah is right or his earswhile ministers in the state and MOS PMO, who had been crying in high pitch day in and day out that great achievements are being made on all fronts including remarkable all round development of Jammu region, during the PDP- BJP regime . Senior leaders those present in the Press conference include Ex-MP Madan Lal Sharma, Vice-Presidents Mula Ram & Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma,  R.S. Chib, Rajnish Sharma and Th. Balwan Singh.
