J&K Police observes 4th Yoga Day at Srinagar, Jammu

SRINAGAR, JUNE 21: In connection with 4th  International Yoga Day J&K Police today organized special programmes at Srinagar and Jammu to observe the occasion.

At Jammu J&K Police Wives Welfare Association in coordination with Ayush, NCC, Bhartiya Yog Sansthan and some NGOs celebrated the Day with enthusiasm at K.K. Hakku Astro Turf Stadium which started at 7 a.m. Dr. Jatinder Singh, Union Minister of State was the Chief guest. He was accompanied by Jugal Kishore Sharma Member of Parliament (MP) and Ravinder Raina-MLA Nowshera.

About 2000 participants including Div Com. and Deputy Commissioner Jammu gathered to performed Yoga. The session was later followed by an interaction between the participants and the yoga experts in which various health benefits of yoga were discussed.

At Srinagar in Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, J&K Police and NCC Group Headquarter Srinagar celebrated the day in which more than seven   hundred NCC cadets, police personnel and school children participated in the Yoga session. Different exercises (Asanas) were performed under the guidance of yoga experts.

Commandant JKAP 12th Abdul Rashid Bhat threw light on the immediate relevance of Yoga to the present stressful life style and appealed the participants to make yoga a regular feature of their daily routine. He thanked different departments for their cooperation in making the function a success.
