General, Police Observer for Sonawari AC brief contesting candidates, political representatives about ECI guidelines

BANDIPORA: General Observer for 14-Sonawari Assembly Constituency of Bandipora District, Nelson Eyon Bage and Police Observer, Adarsh Sidhu today convened a meeting at Dak Banglow Sumbal here with contesting candidates and representatives from various political parties of Sonawari AC.

The meeting focused on the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) ahead of the assembly elections.

Speaking on the occasion, the Observers emphasized on the importance of integrity in the electoral process and reiterated the significance of maintaining a conducive environment for voters. They also highlighted procedures regarding the electoral process to the participants and urged them to cooperate in ensuring a transparent, fair and peaceful election besides emphasized on adherence to guidelines set by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

On the occasion, ADC/Nodal Officer MCC, Zaffar Husson Shawal, briefed the meeting regarding measures being taken for enforcement of MCC in the constituency.

Returning Officer (RO), 14-Sonawari,Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh also provided insights into the steps being implemented to facilitate a smooth and peaceful polling process.

Following the meeting, the observers visited the DCRC and strong room where Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and sensitive election materials are securely stored to ensure that all aspects of the electoral process are fully prepared and safeguarded, further underscoring their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the elections.
