Secretary Tourism chairs workshop on online monitoring of works

SRINAGAR, JUNE 21: A workshop aimed at familiarizing the engineering staff of Tourism department about a specially designed online application titled “Dashboard Application” was held on Wednesday at TRC Srinagar under the chairmanship of Secretary Tourism Rigzin Samphael.

Besides Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood Ahmed Shah, the workshop was attended by CEOs and engineering staff of all Tourism Development Authorities of the State.

The online application provides an effective mechanism of monitoring the progress of development projects on the ground and has been specially designed for the purpose.

The application enables the field staff to upload pictures depicting the progress of the works which would be monitored by the higher authorities both at Central and State government level without physically inspecting the sites.

Pertinent to mention that the Ministry of Tourism GoI has sanctioned various projects under “Swadesh Darshan “scheme under Prime Minister development scheme (PMDP) which are being implemented through the Directorate of Tourism Jammu /Kashmir and development authorities and need periodic inspections.

In another meeting chaired by the Secretary Tourism, 14 cases of houseboats were also cleared for sanction of repair permission. The meeting was attended by Director Tourism Kashmir and officers of LAWDA and Tourism Department.
