SRINAGAR: Demonstrating a praiseworthy commitment in fostering cleanliness and hygiene within the community, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has undertaken an extensive cleanliness drive at various religious places viz. temples, mosques, churches, and other places of worship.

During this dedicated drive, officials from the SMC and volunteers collaborated to conduct cleaning activities, implement waste management strategies, and raise awareness about cleanliness at these revered religious places. The primary goal is to uphold the cleanliness standards of these culturally significant places and also to instill a sense of civic responsibility among all.

As a key aspect of this initiative, the SMC has worked closely with religious leaders and community representatives to disseminate messages advocating cleanliness and hygiene among citizens. Religious leaders have been encouraged to integrate discussions on cleanliness and environmental stewardship into their sermons and teachings, emphasizing the crucial importance of maintaining a clean and sustainable living environment.

This collaborative endeavor between the SMC, religious institutions, and the community underscores a shared commitment in promoting a culture of cleanliness and well-being. Through collective action, SMC strives to create a city that is cleaner, greener, and more sustainable for all residents.

The SMC calls upon all citizens to actively engage in the cleanliness drive and lend their support to initiatives aimed at preserving the cleanliness and tidiness of religious places and public spaces.
