General Rawat has come full Circle on understanding mechanism to resolve Kashmir Dispute: Soz
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Terming the killing of Rising Kashmir Chief Editor Syed Shujaat Bukhari as an act of ‘silencing most reasonable voice seeking resolution of Kashmir dispute, Prof. Saifuddin Soz, former Union Minister and a congress veteran has expressed his shock over the incident.

In a press release issued here, Soz said that Shujaat was a man who realized, in full measure, that the people of Kashmir suffered greatest miseries due to the hostility between India and Pakistan and missed no opportunity to emphasize that a purposeful dialogue between India and Pakistan together with the people of Kashmir was the only way forward.

“While he put in a vigorous effort to promote dignified peace, he remained magnanimous and courteous to all manners of people. In his death, he established the fact that he was loved and respected by a vast number of people belonging to a cross-section of society,” the press release quoted Soz as saying.

Soz further added that the people of Kashmir were deeply shocked and astonished as to how three motorcycle-borne killers could commit this kind of crime within the premises of press colony in broad day light. “Since the most active militant outfits in the State have declared that they were not involved in the crime, the people of Kashmir rightly expect that the J&K Police will show its mettle and nab the killers, at the earliest,” Soz added.
