Srinagar June 15, 2018: All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani once again expressed grief over the killing of renowned journalist and editor in chief of Rising Kashmir. A press release issued here said that the tragic news of this gruesome incident was shocking.

He further said that “our faith teaches us that killing of an innocent is equal to killing of whole humanity and it is unfortunate that our elders have to shoulder the coffins of their youngsters on daily basis”.

Both his sons, Dr. Naeem Zaffar Geelani and Dr. Naseem Zaffar Geelani and Hurriyat chief spokesman G. A. Gulzar participated in the funeral of late Sujaat Bukhari in his native village Keeri, the press release added.

Meanwhile, Geelani was yet again barred from offering Friday prayers when police authorities kept the door closed from outside, the press release said.

Hurriyat spokesman condemned the police action and said that the authorities have turned the residence of Hurriyat Chairman into a prison. “Heavy contingent of police and CRPF was deployed on the main gate of his residence where Geelani Sahab continues to be under house arrest for the last eight years,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.
