Srinagar: A Power department daily-wager died of an electric shock in Pattan area of north Kashmir Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon.
An official said Ghulam Mohammad Wani (50), son of Habibullah Wani, resident of Seeriguiwa Dangerpora, working as daily-wager in PDD suffered electric shock while rectifying some fault in a smart meter, news agency Kashmir Scroll reported.
He said that Wani was immediately taken to SDH Pattan for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
He said that necessary proceedings and investigation have been taken up.
