Jammu, Jun 13: Several political parties and organisations today staged anti-Pakistan protests in different parts of Jammu city after four Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were killed and three injured in unprovoked overnight firing from across the border.

Led by their chairperson Harsh Dev Singh, workers of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) demonstrated at the Exhibition Ground here.

Singh stressed that Pakistan needs to be isolated at the international level to ensure that it stops its “nefarious” activities.

He also attacked the BJP-led NDA government, alleging that the Centre had failed to deal with Pakistan effectively.

Pakistan has created terror along the border and the hinterland and the Centre is watching as a mute spectator with its focus only on winning the next year’s parliamentary elections, the JKNPP chairperson said.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment on a 56-inch chest , made during the 2014 general elections campaign, he reminded the government of its promise of getting the heads of 10 Pakistani soldiers for that of one Indian troop.

Protests were also staged by Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) and Shiv Sena Dogra Front in New Plot and Rani Park areas of the city respectively.

The JWAM workers raised anti-Pakistan slogans and carried placards reading “Crush Pakistan, Crush Terrorism”.

The Shiv Sena Dogra Front workers called for stern action against Pakistan for the ceasefire violation.

Pakistan Rangers initiated firing along the International Border (IB) in Chamliyal post area of Ramgarh sector at 10:30 pm yesterday and it continued till 4:30 am, officials said.

This is the second major ceasefire violation along the IB this month and came despite the representatives of the border guarding forces of the two nations meeting twice within a week to reinforce the 2003 ceasefire pact, they said.
