On the occasion, Laway said that it is a matter of pride to have our Rashtriya Gokul Mission beneficiaries and MAITRIs as recipients of a special invitation from the central government to participate in the Republic Day Parade 2024. This is the first time such an initiative has been taken by the Central Government to boost the morale of Rashtriya Gokul Mission beneficiaries, he added.

Laway further highlighted that their participation in the Republic Day Parade is an accolade for their contribution to providing services in the livestock sector in the Kashmir division. The initiative will prove to be a good platform to showcase the contribution of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission in fostering sustainable livestock development and promoting the well-being of rural communities across the region.

Under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, unemployed Individuals are trained and deployed in the Animal Husbandry sector, who serve as MAITRIs – Multipurpose Artificial Insemination Technicians in Rural India. These skilled professionals receive incentives, including Rs 100 for the first Artificial Insemination, Rs 200 for the second, and Rs 100 for each subsequent birth, as part of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme – Rashtriya Gokul Mission (CSS-RGM).
