Mandeep Kaur reviews working of Urban Local Bodies

JAMMU: Commissioner Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD), Mandeep Kaur, today reviewed the functioning of the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) during a meeting held here.

Vice Chairman JDA, Bhawani Rakwal gave a detailed presentation about the functioning of JDA highlighting various issues and concerns affecting the smooth working of the authority.

The Commissioner Secretary had a detailed review of ongoing development projects within the areas of the Jammu Development Authority and directed the concerned officers to expedite all the works for speedy completion.

She asked the concerned officers to further streamline the functioning of various wings of the department which have a direct interface with the public to make the vital units more people-friendly and result-oriented. She laid stress on ensuring the timely completion of the Master Plan Review exercise. She exhorted upon the employees of JDA to work with the highest standard of dedication, honesty and transparency and issued directions for the timely completion of major ongoing development projects being executed in the region.

The Commissioner Secretary exhorted upon JDA to identify the bare minimum staff which is required by JDA on an urgent basis like staff from the Town Planning section, Revenue wing and Khilafwarzi wing and make arrangements accordingly to meet the staff shortage.

The meeting was attended by the Director of Finance H&UDD, Seema Bhasin, and Director of Planning H&UDD, Yoginder Katoch besides other officers from H&UDD and JDA.
