PDP-BJP holds SSA teachers, Anganwari, daily rated workers to ransom: Rana
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

PATHWAR NAGROTA JUNE 08- National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Friday lashed out at the PDP-BJP dispensation for pushing SSA teachers, Anganwari workers and other daily rated workers to wall by withholding their salaries for months together and in the consequence leaving their families in penury.

“The coalition government has lost sense of proportion and it is a matter of shame to see agitating employees, especially women sitting on dharna with infants in cities and towns in extreme and scorching heat”, Rana said while addressing people in remote Pathwar and Kangrail areas  in Nagrota constituency this afternoon.

The Provincial President referred to the plight of SSA teachers, who are without their salaries for four months and said the cruel act of the coalition government has left over 40,000 families high and dry. He said the coalition has not been able to prevail upon the Centre to release central share of funds to pay the employees. If there is lack of coordination between the Centre and the State, with BJP in power at both the places, on even the issue of salaries to poor employees, how can they solve other burgeoning issues confronted to the sensitive state of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, adding that the trauma is with such of the General Line Teachers, who have been promoted as Masters, some of them at the verge of retirement, but brought under the ambit of SSA. “They too are without salaries”, he maintained.

Rana also expressed concern over delay in the regularization of daily rated workers in PHE, PDD and other similarly placed development departments, saying that it was astonishing that much hyped and trumpeted SRO is not being implemented. He said the BJP has been dramatizing situations by making poor segments of society vulnerable to their exploitative propaganda. He said the stage has come when even the ministers are refusing to meet the striking employees and workers, least to speak of solving their grievances, he added

Rana said the continued strike of daily rated workers has been impacting various utility services like power and drinking water and consequentially hitting the common man.

“This is unacceptable and the government must realize its responsibilities and come out with a road map to fulfill the demands of striking employees in a time bound manner”, he added.
