Advisor Bhatnagar chairs BoDs meet of SICOP, SIDCO

JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today chaired the 92nd and 141st Board of Directors (BoDs) meeting of SICOP and SIDCO respectively at the Civil Secretariat here.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh; Secretary of Revenue, Piyush Singla; Managing Director, SIDCO/SICOP, Inderjeet; DG, Codes, Fayaz Ahmad Lone; Director Industries and Commerce, Kashmir, Khalid Majeed and other members of the Board both in person and through video conferencing.

The meeting was held to discuss and deliberate on critical issues pertaining to industrial growth and economic advancement across Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting also provided an opportunity for the BoDs to review the current projects, assess their impact and identify areas for enhancement.

While chairing the BoDs meeting of SICOP, Advisor Bhatnagar impressed upon the management of the corporation that the outstanding amount with government departments should be recovered promptly and solid steps should be taken for clearance of the same.

The Advisor asked the officers of the corporation that the staff and other assets of the corporation should be utilised effectively and the roles of staff should be re-defined for the development of the corporation.

He vehemently called upon the corporation authorities that the requirement of consultants for project execution should be done away with as it causes unnecessary delays in the implementation of projects. He asked them to utilise the services of the design wing of Public Works department for any kind of consultation.

The Advisor, during the meeting, also enquired about the status of which have been allotted land under Industrial Policy 2021-30. He impressed upon the management of the Corporation to ensure that all essential requirements like electricity, water and others were established in newly developed industrial estates well in advance.

MD, SICOP during the meeting informed the Advisor about the progress of development of new industrial estates across different areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, the BoDs made some significant decisions for improving the overall health and management of the corporation.

Meanwhile, Advisor Bhatnagar also chaired the Board of Directors meeting of SIDCO.

During the meeting, the BoDs deliberated on diverse issues like infrastructure development, investment opportunities, and sustainable business practices of the corporation.
