Giving his remarks on these placements, Dr Piyush Singla, Secretary, PD&MD, emphasized the department’s crucial role in the planning and development process at UT. He stressed the importance of having a sufficient pool of resources to fill vacant positions in the field.

Dr. Singla said that the placement of these 50 officers will help bridge the gap between the current deployment and the total sanctioned strength in the department.

It is worth mentioning that members of the Jammu and Kashmir Economics and Statistics (Gazetted) Service hold key positions such as Joint Director Planning in Administrative Departments, Chief Planning Officers in various Deputy Commissioner and field offices, and District Statistics and Evaluation Officers.

These positions are essential for effective planning and monitoring of development projects. Furthermore, these members are actively involved in the implementation of flagship programs, including various CSS, as well as data collection, processing, and analysis.
