SRINAGAR: The Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, today visited Seed Multiplication Farm (SMF) Gangbugh and inspected different blocks of the farm besides taking stock of different Agriculture activities.
While interacting with the staff and technical experts of Gangbugh Farm, the Director said that the Department has started an initiative and is endeavouring to optimize the utility of Departmental farms to attain self-reliance in the field of seed requirement for Kashmir Division. We have already started many interventions to maximize the Rabi output from different departmental Farms, he added.
Iqbal said that the department is executing a comprehensive plan to transform all the departmental farms into revenue-earning and employment-generating assets for the Department.
He appreciated the efforts of the concerned technical experts and asked them to work in close coordination so that the Farm could achieve new heights in the years to come.
The Director was accompanied by some of the senior officers of the department during the visit.
