Tourism Department holds cultural event at Kongdoori, Gulmarg

GULMARG: The Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir, in collaboration with J&K Cable Car Corporation today organized a mesmerizing cultural event at Kongdoori here.

Kongdoori, it may be mentioned, is the culmination point of the first phase of the Gulmarg Gondola.

Artists and singers captivated the attention of the audience by rendering some soulful and electrifying musical performances.

The main attraction of the event was the participation of scores of tourists and visitors who sang and danced on popular Bollywood and classic numbers which was warmly applauded by the audience.

Director, Tourism, Kashmir/Managing Director, J&K Cable Car Corporation, Raja Yaqoob Farooq; officers of the Tourism Department and J&K Cable Car Corporation, tourists from outside and a large number of local stakeholders were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Raja Yaqoob said the Department has endeavoured to further enrich and enhance the experience of tourists by giving them new and varied experiences in cultural, culinary, leisure, adventure and other streams of tourism. The idea, he said, is to make their stay here memorable and joyful so that they come again and also persuade others to visit Kashmir.

The Director of Tourism said given the coming winter season the Department has planned many cultural activities for the coming days. Besides, many adventure and snow-related activities have also been planned by the Department, he added.
