Property of drug peddler attached in Awantipora

Srinagar: Police in Awantipora have attached one double-storied residential house of a “notorious” drug peddler Bakhtawar Ahmad Makroo, son of Late Abdul Rehman Makroo of Gulzarpora Awantipora under section 68-F of  NDPS Act 1985, a police spokesperson informed Monday.

He said the residential house valued at over ₹12 lakhs was identified as “illegally acquired property” during the course of investigation.

“The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner,” police said.

It said the drug peddler is currently detained under PIT-NDPS Act and lodged at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
