The sources said that the residential house of Sanaullah Mir has been attached by the district police, in Turigam village with legal authorization from the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir’s office, in accordance with order no. DIVCOM-K/RTN/37/2023 dated October 31, 2023.

The case, registered under FIR number 10/2023, is of great importance and involves serious charges, including sections 302, 307 RPC, 7/27 A Act and various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), sources said.

Police said that during the investigation, witness statements were recorded, arms and ammunition were recovered. It was found by the investigating team that Sanaullah Mir (the property owner) and his son Umar Suhail Mir, along with Tawseef Ahmad Sheikh, Wajid Ahmad Sheikh, and Adil Gulzar of Shuganpora, were working as Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) for the terrorists.

Investigation further revealed that Sanaullah Mir and Umar had provided shelter and logistical support to terrorists at their two-story residential house, thus enabling terrorist activities in the Kulgam area.

Pertinently, an anti-terror operation took place in Turigam village in Kulgam in 2019, during which three hardcore terrorists were neutralized.

During the operation, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Aman Kumar Thakur and an army personnel lost their lives.
