Srinagar: The government’s decision to change school timings within and outside the Municipal limits of Srinagar is being welcomed by school-going children, and their parents amidst.

Welcoming the move, the parents said that given the early morning chill here, it is better that the authorities have changed the timings.

“It has brought big relief to all the parents who were finding it difficult to send off their children to school on chilly mornings. The prompt adjustment in the school timings by the administration is appreciated,” Abrar Ahmad, a parent said.

These comments come a day after the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) ordered a change in school timings for all government and private institutions from November 01.

As per an order, all the government and private schools falling within Srinagar municipal limits shall function from 10 AM to 3 PM and those outside Srinagar municipal limits from 10.30 AM to 3.30 PM.

“We, as parents, would like to express our sincere thanks to the administration for making both parents and children heave a sigh of relief,” Mohammad Iqbal, another parent said.
