Srinagar: With CCTV footage showing two masked men igniting fire at a commercial building in Batamaloo which was gutted in the wee hours Tuesday, the affected shopkeepers Wednesday demanded that culprits be brought to book.

The aggrieved shopkeepers alleged that two masked individuals broke into the Wani Complex during the middle of the night and scattered some flammable stuff there and set it on fire.

They appealed to the authorities to hold a thorough investigation into the incident and hold the perpetrators to account.

Shopkeepers at the commercial complex asserted that their ongoing dispute with the owners of the complex may have been a trigger for putting the building ablaze.

“We want justice; bring perpetrators to book,” shouted the shopkeepers, urging police to arrest the accused responsible for causing them losses.
