Baramulla, June 01: An Army trooper was killed while as a Major was injured after they slipped off a mountain and fell down into a gorge in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Javid Ahmed said that duo was part of the patrolling party when they slipped and rolled down into a gorge.
“They suffered critical injuries after they slipped into the deep gorge from the mountain at Maidan Uri. The injured duo was identified as Major Amit Kumar and Sepoy Raman Kumar of 62 RR,” an Army official said.
He said the injured men were taken to nearby Military hospital where Sepoy Raman Kumar succumbed to injuries.
