ADG Region PIB inaugurates free health check-up camp for media fraternity

Srinagar: Additional Director General (Region), Press Information Bureau (PIB) Srinagar, Rajinder Chaudhry today inaugurated a free health check-up camp for the media fraternity organized by PARAS Health, Srinagar in coordination with PIB Srinagar, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India at Press Enclave, Srinagar in presence of Joint Director, PIB Srinagar, Qazi Salman and Deputy Director, PIB Srinagar, Tariq Ahmad Rather

This is first of its kind free health check-up camp at Srinagar providing high-quality healthcare services to the media fraternity involving one of the reputed and specialized tertiary care hospital based in Srinagar.

While inaugurating the camp, Chaudhry said that since media sometimes works in a stressful environment under difficult situations, they must focus on their overall health and must follow the universal mantra ‘prevention is better than cure’.

Chaudhary also expressed hope that the media will take forward this message of the importance of preventive healthcare check-ups to the common man.

Senior Journalist, Fayaz Bukhari appreciated this initiative of PIB Srinagar and said that this kind of health check-up camps must be organized regularly for media as their stressful work environment is sometimes contributing to different health problems which must be taken care of at an early stage.

More than 150 journalists belonging to different media organizations were examined by a team of specialists including Dr. Afshan Shabir, Senior Consultant, Internal Medicine, Dr. Shabeer Ahmad Paul, Consultant Neurology and Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Rather, Consultant, Interventional Cardiologist at PARAS Health, Srinagar.

Free healthcare services like ECG, BMI, BSR, etc. were provided in the health check-up camp on the spot.
