Srinaga: A man allegedly killed his mother-in-law in Botakadal area of Srinagar on Sunday.
Quoting official sources, news agency Kashmir Scroll reported that information was received by police in Lalbazar that one Saleema, wife of Late Mohammad Qasim, resident of Gulshan bagh, Botakadal, was assaulted by her resident son-in-law identified as Shabir Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Salam Bhat, originally hailing from Pattan, resulting in her on-spot death.
In this regard murder case (FIR No 45/2023, u/s 302 IPC) was registered in Lalbazar police station, they said. During the course of investigation the accused Shabir Ahmad Bhat was arrested.
