Pulwama: A woman from Pulwama died after giving birth to a baby girl even as her family alleged that she died due to medical negligence at District Hospital Pulwama.

The family alleged even as they informed the doctors that the patient was in severe pain, the latter didn’t pay any heed. “The doctors repeatedly told us her condition is good. However, at 3 am they asked us to shift her to Lalla Ded Hospital in Srinagar, and when we reached there, she was almost dead.”

The family members have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, a senior doctor at Lalla Ded Hospital said that the patient had developed some complications at District Hospital Pulwama and was referred in shock to the Srinagar hospital where she was received at around 4:30 am.

“We informed her family members that she is almost dead, but as per laid down protocols she was taken to the operation theatre for resuscitation but she collapsed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Pulwama Dr A G Dar said that they will investigate the matter and find out the cause of referral and death as well.
