Independence Day celebrations matter of National pride: Dr Abid Rasheed

SRINAGAR: Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today held a comprehensive review of the preparations and arrangements made by the department for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations at the Civil Secretariat here.

Addressing the officers during the meeting, Dr. Abid highlighted that this day is a matter of national pride for all of us and holds a special place in the hearts of every citizen, symbolizing the unyielding spirit and unity that have defined our great nation.

During the review meeting, the Secretary underscored on the importance of creating an inclusive and memorable event that would resonate with people of all ages and backgrounds. He impressed upon the officers to meticulously focus on all the aspects of these celebrations well in advance.

Emphasising on the patriotic importance of this day, Dr. Abid impressed upon the officers that the performances of the cultural academy, as well as their artists, should portray patriotic fervor and the level of these performances should be commensurate with the standard of this National Day. He asked the officers to shortlist the artists well in advance for the celebrations besides line departmental requisitions for various purposes should also be addressed beforehand.

The Secretary expressed his appreciation for the meticulous planning and dedication of the department and emphasized on the need for seamless coordination among all stakeholders involved for the smooth organization of this grand event. Dr. Abid further expressed confidence that the 2023 Independence Day celebrations would be a remarkable occasion that celebrates the country’s achievements with patriotic fervor.

The meeting among others was attended by Secretary JKAACL, Director Finance, Culture Department, Special Secretary, Culture Department, Additional Secretary, JKAACL, and other concerned officers both in person and through video conferencing.
