Srinagar, May 30: Senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz today said the Centre was not serious about any dialogue process in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that government’s special representative to the state Dineshwar Sharma has not been able to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi or National Security Advisor Ajit Doval so far.

Soz was referring to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s comment made on Saturday that the government was ready to hold dialogue with the Hurriyat Conference leadership if the separatists came forward for talks.

“A recent query from me to the concerned quarters enlightened me to know that the so-called interlocutor, Dineshwar Sharma, has not been able to meet the NSA or the PM since his appointment in October last year,” Soz said in a statement here.

The Congress leader said the mainstream political parties in Kashmir should understand the stand taken by the separatists groups on the dialogue process.

I wish the mainstream parties in Kashmir realise, in full measure, the genuineness of the stand taken by the Joint Resistance Leadership of the Hurriyat Conference on the issue of a purposeful dialogue process between New Delhi and Kashmir.

“It should be realised by one and all that there is no use of a process for dialogue if it is not based on the matrix of a definite purpose,” he said.
