Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug smuggler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession, officials informed Wednesday.
They said a police party intercepted a vehicle (JK05J-8004) at Dachi Uri, and recovered 822 grams of cannabis, 707 grams of cannabis powder, 654 grams of cannabis leaves and 262 grams of poppy straw from the possession of its driver Noor Mohammad Mughal, son of Khan Mohammad Mughal, resident of Kundi Barjala Kamalkote.
Mughal has been arrested and vehicle seized, while a case has been registered in Police Station Uri for further investigation, police said.
