SRINAGAR: The Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal, today visited Seed Multiplication Farm Allow pora Shopian and inspected different blocks of the farm besides taking stock of different activities.
Addressing the staff and technical experts of SMF Allowpora, the Director of Agriculture said that Department in the last two years has started many initiatives and is endeavoring to optimize the utility of Departmental farms to attain self-reliance in the field of seed requirement for the Kashmir Division.
He said that the department has already fixed benchmarks and targets for every departmental farm in the valley so far as the production of different kinds of seeds is concerned, and after visiting different farms in recent times they are satisfied and optimistic that the department could achieve those targets in an effective manner.
The Director of Agriculture appreciated the efforts of the concerned officers and technical experts of Allowpora Farm and asked them to work with close coordination so that this Farm could achieve new heights in the years to come.
The Director of Agriculture was accompanied by some of the senior officers of the Department during the visit.
