North Zone Cultural Centre sparks cultural renaissance across Valley

SRINAGAR: The captivating folk artists continued to mesmerise the audiences with their colourful performances across various venues in Srinagar city during the ongoing pre-event cultural programmes, being held as a prelude to the highly anticipated “Vitasta Cultural Festival” scheduled to begin on June 23 at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC).

The grand festival marks the culmination of a significant trilogy of events organised by the Union Ministry of Culture, through the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala. This final edition holds tremendous significance as it concludes a remarkable series that began with festivals held in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Pune (Maharashtra).

The preceding part of the festival showcased the rich cultural heritage of these diverse regions, and now the spotlight is on Srinagar, where the festival promises to be a grand celebration of art and culture in Jammu and Kashmir.

On Wednesday, a wave of excitement swept through Srinagar as people, including students, eagerly gathered at various venues to have a live experience of folk performances by talented artists.

These venues set up for this memorable experience included Girls Higher Secondary School in Shalimar, Girls Higher Secondary School in Nishat, the school auditorium of Girls Higher Secondary School in Raj Bagh, and the College Ground of Women’s College in Srinagar.
