Srinagar: Apni Party Senior Vice President and former cabinet minister Ghulam Hassan Mir on Wednesday urged the administration to extend grade pay level 1 to re-designated class IV multi-tasking staff (MTS) as per the recommendation of the 7th CPC.

According to a press release issued here, a large group of these employees working in various government departments as Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) called on Ghulam Hassan Mir today and informed him about the unjust treatment they have been facing due to the non-implementation of the 7th CPC in their favour.

“The employees, mostly assigned the job of assistants in various government departments, informed Ghulam Hassan Mir that they have been working and performing their duties with utmost diligence for years, yet the government is reluctant to implement the 7th CPC recommendations, particularly in extending the grade pay level 1 to the class 4/multitasking staff (MTS),” the press note said.

“In 2016, the union government accepted the recommendations of the 7th CPC, wherein the minimum basic pay for level 1 was fixed at Rs 18,000. The then J&K government enhanced the pay of state government employees in accordance with the 7th CPC on April 24, 2018, through a notification. But while the formulation of pay levels three infamous sb pay levels were introduced, due to which the minimum pay was fixed at Rs 14800, thus depriving a vast section of employees of the benefits of the 7th CPC by way of sending its recommendation for a toss,” the employees informed Apni Party leader.

In his appeal to the LG administration, Ghulam Hassan Mir said, “Since the MTS staff in other parts of the country are being paid in accordance with the recommendation of central pay commissions formed by the central government from time to time, therefore the MTS from Jammu and Kashmir should not be deprived of the equal dividends.”

“I request the administration to thoroughly examine this matter and give due consideration to the concerns of these affected employees. Their legitimate demands must be acknowledged and addressed, ensuring that they receive the justice they rightfully deserve,” he added.
