Meanwhile, the 66th National School Games Football U/19 Boys tournament is currently underway at Bhopal, with matches being held at various venues. The J&K team participated in their first match against IBSO, delivering an exhilarating performance. Despite their efforts, they, unfortunately, lost by a narrow margin of 1-0 in the last minute of the game.

In their second match against Daman And Dua, JK boys showcased exceptional football skills, outclassing their opponents. The team secured a resounding victory with a final score of 2-0. Sajid Fayaz headed the first goal, while Athar Malik scored the second goal, contributing to their impressive win.

Pertinently to secure a place in the group playoffs, the J&K team played their 3rd match against Karnataka at Nagr. Despite both teams’ efforts, the match ended goalless, allowing J&K to qualify for the pre-quarterfinals.

In the pre-quarterfinal match against Football Hub Tripora, the J&K boys displayed their determination and resilience. Despite playing their earlier match at 5:30 AM, leaving them physically exhausted, they did not let their spirits waver. The match went into a tiebreaker, and the JK team emerged victorious with a scoreline of 4-3.

Interestingly, Goalkeeper Wajid Yousuf’s exceptional performance included saving two penalty shots. Sayam, Kashif, Muneer, and Aditya were the scorers for J&K, while the opposing team managed to score only three goals out of five.

Having already played two matches earlier in the day, the J&K team was gearing up for their third match when this report was filed. Team J&K remains committed to putting up an exceptional display of football as they advance to the quarterfinals.
