Kupwara: A female bear and her cub were captured in Sogam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon.
GNS reported that a mother-bear was roaming in the area for the last many days now, creating fear among the locals.
The Wildlife Department employees reached the area this afternoon and launched an operation to catch the bear. After hours of persistent efforts, the bear was tranquilised and caught together with its cub.
