3 held for burglary in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police in Baramulla claimed to have solved a burglary case by arresting three accused persons and recovering stolen property from their possession.

Acting on a complaint of the Accounts officer of Small Hydro Electric Project Boniyar, about the theft of steel shuttering plates from a construction site at Maidanan Boniyar, police registered a case and started investigation, police spokesman informed.

He said with the help of technical and human resources, police zeroed in on some suspects. Three suspects — Aqib Ahmad Shah, son of Mohammad Hafeez Shah of Nanglipora Sopore; Bashir Ahmad Jainder, son of Sayia Jinder, resident of Madian Boniyar; and  Sajad Ahmad Thakar, son of Gulam Qadir Thakar of Uranbowa – later confessed their involvement during interrogation, police said.

On their disclosure, police recovered stolen property from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody.
