Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession, officials informed Thursday.
They said in Kulgam, one Dilber Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Razzaq Bhat of Labripora, Kulgam, was arrested at Labripora crossing after his search yielded 110 grams of cannabis-like substance and cash of Rs 3400.
In Handwara, at Khanpora crossing, one Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan, resident of New Colony Jagerpora, was arrested after 80 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations in both these instances and further investigation has been initiated, police said.
