People in J&K deprived of their democratic rights: Ghulam Hassan Mir

TANGMARG: Apni Party Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir today said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been deprived of their democratic rights.

Addressing a public outreach program at village Hard Ichloo in Tangmarg, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the Central Govt has not announced assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir which were pending for the last several years.

“It appears that the people have been deprived of their democratic rights to elect their own Govt as assembly elections have not been held in J&K,” he said.

He demanded that the assembly elections should be held as early as possible so that people can be provided the opportunity to elect their own Govt.

He said that “The people in both the regions of J&K have repeatedly demanded to hold of assembly elections, and restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir which was downgraded to a Union Territory.”

He also referred to various other developmental issues, and employment opportunities and assured the people that if the Apni Party forms the next Govt in J&K, they will provide equitable development to all the regions.

He said that “If we form the next Govt, we will enhance the pension scheme up to Rs 5000, will provide four cooking gas cylinders every year under the Ujjawala scheme, we will also provide marriage assistance to the girls, and ensure the protection of the natural resources.”

He said that the Apni Party believes that the people should get equal opportunity.

Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include DDC Kunzer Sheikh Nazir Ahmad, BDC Kunzer Beigh Aftab, Kaka Ji, Irshad Pandit, Adv Fayaz Ahmad, Irfan Ahmad, and others.
