RTO Sgr cautions people against elements promising to secure DLs, other services

SRINAGAR: The Authorities at Regional Transport Office today informed that instances of cheating by unscrupulous elements have been reported to this office who promises people to secure their Driving Licenses (DLs) and other services in the RTO office and sometimes impersonate RTO Officers for the purpose to extort money from gullible.

As per a statement issued here, it has given out that the general public is being cheated by unscrupulous elements, by first becoming friendly through social media i.e., Facebook/Messenger or through some other channels, and subsequently promising them to secure their driving licenses and other services in the RTO office and sometimes impersonate as RTO Officers for the purpose to extort money.

The general public is, hereby, informed that all services in RTO Office are available online against prescribed free and laid down norms. The different token taxes/rates payable have been notified and are in the public domain.

The general public is alerted/advised not to pay any amount in the name of RTO to any person or to any private account, if anybody demands such payments claiming to be any officer of RTO, the complaints along with proof may be forwarded to our official email rtokashmir001@gmail.com.
