Team 114 RCC of BRO rescues stranded locals from Singay-la pass

Leh: A rescue team of 114 RCC, Project Yojak, Border Roads Organisation deputed at Neraks successfully rescued four locals stuck at Singay-la pass this morning.

As informed, four locals moved from Khaltse at around 08:30 pm towards Neraks. Due to heavy snowfall at the passes, the vehicle got stuck at the Singay-la pass. A rescue operation was launched under the supervision of OC 114 RCC, Major Pranav Nauni, a team led by JE Pradeep Rathore reached Singay-la top where the 4 locals including an infant were stuck with their vehicle.

JE Rathore along with OEM Bodke Vishal and OEM Sarabjit Singh with the help of local CPLs executed the rescue operation amid heavy snowfall late at night. 2IC/OIC, Amit Anchal (AE Civil, 114 RCC) coordinated the overall conduct of the rescue operation which was successfully concluded in the early morning today at around 04:30 AM. The locals were evacuated to Fotoksar village.

Chairman/CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson appreciated the extraordinary efforts of the team of 114 RCC, Project Yojak for successfully conducting the rescue operation this morning. He stated that the team of 114 RCC have shown immense courage and bravery in rescuing the stranded locals amid the heavy blizzard at Singay-la pass this morning.

H’CEC further asked DC/CEO LAHDC Leh to recommend their case for due appreciation from the UT Administration, Ladakh, and the other concerned authorities. He further requested locals not to venture into snow-bound areas without taking prior information and advisories from the concerned authorities, especially traveling via high passes during heavy snowfall.
