Div Com inspects Republic Day arrangements at Mulana Azad Stadium

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, on Tuesday visited Mulana Azad (M A) Stadium to inspect and finalize the arrangements for Republic Day 2023 celebration.

Among others DIG, Shakti Pathak; Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; SSP Security Jammu, besides senior officers of Army, Traffic, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Information, Education, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality and Protocol, JKRTC and other concerned departments were also present.

At the outset, the Div Com took a round of the stadium and inspected the overall arrangements being made at the venue for the smooth conduct of the Republic Day celebration.

The Div Com discussed in detail all the arrangements being put in place by the concerned departments for the smooth conduct of the National event. He stressed on close synergy among the concerned departments while making arrangements.

The concerned departments were directed to make requisite arrangements well in advance.

He took detailed stock of security arrangements, traffic management, seating arrangements, decoration, Power & water supply, sanitation, Medicare, etc. The concerned officers were instructed to follow the devised plans while accomplishing their assigned tasks.

It was informed that Army Schools contingents, bands, and colorful cultural programmes would also be performed during the celebration.

The Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon all the concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for a smooth and successful celebration of the national event.

While inspecting the ongoing works at the main Pavillion the Div Com directed Hospitality and Protocol Department to make arrangements for waterproof tentage, and heating arrangements besides expediting the pace of all ongoing works for timely completion.

The traffic department was directed to frame a traffic management plan, finalize parking spaces and notify the diversions on time for the convenience of the general public.

The JMC was directed to ensure cleanliness in and around the venue and the functioning of street lights, while PWD was asked to expedite the renovation works at the venue and complete the same at the earliest.

The JPDCL was instructed to ensure the installation of lights at specific points besides making arrangements for Genset at the venue for backup.

The Div Com also directed JPDCL, Jal Shakti, JMC, and PWD to deploy an adequate number of employees at the venue and also establish joint control for finalizing the arrangements.
