Srinagar: Police on Saturday said it has arrested two-drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession in Handwara.
Sharing details, police spokesman said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Qalamabad intercepted a car (JK02A-4693) with two persons — Sameer Ahmad Bhat, son of Manzoor Ahmad, and Maisar Ghulam, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, residents of ReshiporaAwantipora – on board.
During search, 1.05 kgs of ‘charas’ (cannabis) was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station while the vehicle has also been seized, police said, adding a has been registered under relevant sections of law
