Srinagar: Police in Budgam Friday said they have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party patrolling at Warpora Soibugh intercepted a suspicious person and recovered 10 grams of heroin from his possession, and arrested him on the spot. He has been identified as Zahid Ahmad Rather, son of Ghulam Nabi Rather of Nasrulahpora Budgam, police said.
A case (FIR no. 376/2022) under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and an investigation has been initiated.
Police said the arrested accused person is a notorious drug peddler who used to sell drugs among the youth of Soibugh and adjoining areas.
