NC asks admin to facilitate annual Urs observance of Hazrat Sheikh Ul Aalam (RA)

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather on Tuesday asked the divisional administration to facilitate the annual Urs observance of the patron saint of Kashmir Hazrat Sheikh Nur-Ud-Din Noorani Almamdaar-e-Kashmir (RA) at Charar-e-Sharief.

In a statement, Rather said that thousands of devotees from the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir will throng the revered shrine at the Charar-e-Sharief in view of the upcoming Urs observance, therefore, making it imperative for the government to step up the facilities to meet the rush.

The incumbent government should give necessary directions to all the concerned departments to facilitate the Urs observance. “Availability of essential commodities particularly rice, sugar, flour, K-oil and LPG and basic civic amenities including power and water supply should be made possible throughout the upcoming Urs days. FCS&CA department should ensure an additional quota of essential food items remains available during the Urs period. Maintenance work of already installed street lights and also install additional lights at appropriate places where ever required should be done on a priority basis,” he said adding, “ARTO Budgam in close liaison with Traffic and Police department should come up with a plan to minimize traffic congestion in and around the town, for this purpose additional parking spots have been kept available.”

Meanwhile, Central Zone President Ali Muhammad Dar, District President Badgam Haji Abdul Ahad Dar, Senior leader Saif-Ud-Din Bhat, District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Mir have also urged the administration to ensure all basic and effective amenities to devotees during the Urs days.
