She said that PDP’s policies are focused on women in particular as  the party has formulated a comprehensive programme for the socio-economic growth of the women of the State.

While commending the vision of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti towards the women empowerment, Safina Baig said expressed hope that this initiative will encourage families to register their properties in the name of their sisters, daughters, wives and mothers.

“Women, as of now own bare minimum immovable assets even after contributing the maximum to our society,” she said.

Terming party workers as ambassadors of peace she exhorted upon the party workers to carry forward the policy and vision of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

“As party workers it is our responsibility to frustrate designs of those forces which are hell bent to create disturbance in the State by raking up emotions of the people,” she said, cautioning that forces inimical to the peace are frustrated due to revolutionary and pro-people steps being initiated by the coalition government headed by Mehbooba Mufti.

Calling upon party workers to spread message of PDP at the grass root level, Safina Beig said that agenda of the party was formulated by accommodating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society and need of the hour is to educate the people about revolutionary policies of the party.

Addressing the gathering to welcome Safina Baig, party General Secretary Ved Mahajan urged upon the women of state to come forward and play an active role in rebuilding Jammu and Kashmir into a prosperous and tranquil state.

Speaking on this occasion VC Women’s Development Corporation  Vijaya Dogra reiterated party’s pledge to get women empowered and provide them new avenues for life and new reasons to dream.
