Muharram-ul-Haram: DC Sgr holds consultation with prominent Shia leaders

SRINAGAR: In order to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of Muharram processions in the District and to take stock of the facilities being extended to people during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Monday held a consultative meeting with prominent Shia leaders at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex, here.

During the interaction, threadbare deliberations were held over the routes proposed for the conduct of Muharram Processions across the District.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Superintendents of Police East/West/ South/South East, SP Traffic, Chief Planning officer, Joint Commissioner SMC, Executive Engineer, PHE, Tehsildars of Eidgah, South Srinagar, Khanyar, and other senior officers from Police and Civil Administration were present in the meeting.

While prominent leaders of various Shia associations including President All J&K Shia Association, President Itihad-ul-Muslimeen, All J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, President Hussani Relief Committee, Chairman Hussani Yadgar Committee, Chairman Idara Auqaf, Imamia Shalimar and Executive President Hussani Welfare Organization also attended the meeting.
